As the weather improves daily and we head towards the lighter evenings and longer days an escape for a few days to the coast is a welcome break for us all from the long winter we are beginning to emerge from at last.
My escape last weekend was to North Wales , dramatic skies, a little sunshine and even a snow topped Snowdonia.
The local beaches rugged and stormy were littered with driftwood, seaglass and especially seashells, a beachcombers delight

The sun made an appearance along with some amazing sunsets framed by the distant hills and mountains , a beautiful setting for walking and appreciating our amazing coastline.
The local beach to Conwy “Morfa” was full of delicate baby cockle shells mixed in with the pebbles and driftwood .

These quite dainty shells however small still had amazing details within them , every line ,ridge and curve perfect for moulding off.

Taking a careful copy of these seashells back home in my workshop I was delighted in how the delicate details still within the mould were so refined .
Just perfect to then be used to Handcast in recycled fine silver.

These Conwy cockle shells now finished however small are just lovely to wear as an accompaniment to seaglass or just on their own.

The Conwy cockle shell is now to my seashell collection available in my website shop now.
